Navigating H. pylori: A Holistic Strategy for Infection Management

Helicobacter pylori, is a common bacteria that can reside in the digestive tract, occasionally causing gastritis, ulcers, and other digestive issues. It may also have no symptoms, and in those cases, I would not treat it. It is estimated that about 50% of the world's population has been infected with H. pylori, although I would argue that it is part of our microbiome. H. pylori becomes pathogenic in response to a toxic internal environment. When H. pylori presents with symptoms, you may experience:
- GERD, acid reflux
- Gastritis, ulcers
- Indigestion
- Frequent burping
- Bloating
- Nutrient deficiencies, especially iron, calcium, B12, folate, Vitamin A, C, and E.
- Nausea, loss of appetite
- Fatigue and weakness
Exploring Root Causes
- Chronic low stomach acid
- Poor drainage
- Environmental toxins, especially those coming from food and water
Order of Operations
- Balancing your circadian rhythm is the first step to healing. To learn more about how I've optimized my sleep, check out 8 Hacks that Took my Sleep to the Next Level
- Switch to organic foods. Foods that must be bought organic to reduce pesticide exposure include:
- Strawberries
- Spinach
- Kale, collard, and mustard greens
- Peaches
- Pears
- Nectarines
- Apples
- Grapes
- Bell & hot peppers
- Cherries
- Blueberries
- Green beans
- Replenish nutrient deficiencies caused by low stomach acid. The most common will be iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, Vitamin B12, and protein. You may benefit from using supplements in a liquid form or lozenge to optimize absorption considering digestion has been compromised.
- Filter your water either with reverse osmosis such as AquaTru (link applies discount automatically), or with a distillation machine such as My Pure Water (code: PAOLA)
- Mineralize your water daily. You can use 1-3 capfuls of E-lyte daily.
- Support drainage for a minimum of 30 days.
- Target H. pylori, see instructions below.
- Gastritis Protocol to seal stomach lining and/or GERD and Acid Reflux Protocol if needed.
A Comprehensive Approach to H. Pylori
Binders:
- ViRadChem: 6 capsules per day, in divided doses, with or without meals
- Ultra Binder by Quicksilver: 1 teaspoon per day, in divided doses in water, 2 hours away from meals and other supplements
- HM-ET: 2-3 capsules per day, in divided doses, with or without meals
Note: Choose one binder. They are listed based on potency. If you do not have experience with binders, I recommend starting with ViRadChem. Binders can make you more constipated. It is essential that you have 1-3 bowel movements a day to cleanse the body. Add one binder to the protocol for 60 days.
Anti-bacterials:
- Fresh cabbage juice: a minimum of 1 litre of juice per day (1 litre equals 32 oz or 2lbs of cabbage)
- HPYL:SSR by DesBio (2 kits); one vial every third day in succession, hold in the mouth for 30 seconds. The vials are taken in series, ascending order (1-10) for the first 30 days of the protocol, then decreasing in order (10-1) for the second 30 days.
- Pyloguard by Microbiome Labs: 1 capsule per day in water, on an empty stomach
- Mastic Gum by Jarrow: 2 capsules per day, in divided doses, 20 minutes before meals
Note: Add all four anti-bacterials to the protocol and follow for 60 days.
Biofilm Disruptor for H.Pylori
- NAC by Pure Encapsulations: 2 capsules per day, in divided doses, between meals or 30 minutes before a meal
Note: Add NAC to the protocol for 60 days.

- DesBio supplements can be found on DBScript by signing up here. Alternatively you can sign up for a DesBio account by using my invite code: 7af652d1
- I would follow this protocol for a minimum of 30 days, ideally 60 days.
If H. Pylori persists:
- Consider impaired drainage pathways
- Consider parasites
- Consider potential environmental toxins that you are chronically exposed to in your environment
Co-occuring Conditions:
- If gastritis is present, H. Pylori can be targeted while targeting gastritis or before targeting gastritis: Gastritis Protocol
- If GERD & Acid reflux are present , H. Pylori can be targeted during or before targeting GERD & Acid reflux: GERD & Acid reflux Protocol
